Nano Nagle, born in Balleygriffen, Ireland in 1718 is very important to Sacred Heart School. She was known in her home county of Cork as the "Lady with the Lantern." She earned this title when, without regard for her own safety, she selflessly educated the children during the day and tended the sick at night. The Lady with the Lantern is the symbol of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary which she established in 1770. In turn, the Sisters of the Presentation came to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1955 and established Sacred Heart School. Once a year we honor Nano Nagle and choose a boy and a girl in each grade that most exemplifies the qualities we were taught by Nano and her followers. |

Now, more than ever, Catholic Schools Week is a time to celebrate the enduring value of Catholic education. Each year at this time, we focus on the gift that Catholic education provides to America's young people and its contributions to our church, our communities, and our nation. During the week, we will honor those who contribute to the success of Sacred Heart Catholic School - students, families, faculty, staff, volunteers, community supporters, and local leaders.
This year's theme, "Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life," underscores the commitment of Catholic schools to continue a tradition of paying dividends for years to come. You can count on Sacred Heart to instill in students the faith, knowledge, morals, and discipline that will enable them to fulfill their future roles as committed citizens, productive employees, and effective leaders.
Please join us for a week of celebrations ... |
